Super Bowl

Wow. What a depressing couple of weeks. Once the Vikings lost, I just kind of shut down.

If I've done the math correctly, there are two battles going on during the Super Bowl (click the 2009 Playoff Key link on the right to make sure I'm right).

First/Second place (7 points):
Alicia Jensen (40 tiebreaker) vs. Rick Westphal (45)

Third/Fourth place (6 points):
Jason Taylor (43) vs. Tony Pezely (45)

1st place: $130
2nd place: $70
3rd place: $30

Ravens, Eagles advance

I don't really feel like writing now, but I'm going to do it anyway- for my two loyal readers out there. I'm a big Vikings fan...that's why I don't feel like writing. The Eagles went in to Minnesota and defeated the Vikings in the late game. And the Ravens went on the road and beat the Dolphins earlier today. Both teams were #6 seeds.

Tony Pezely is still perfect, but he has all 1's and 2's the rest of the way. C'mon, after watching the Chargers and Eagles, don't you feel like they're going to be tough to beat? Jeni Siebeneck is looking to run the table in reverse- she's 0-4 so far. And I know her heart was broken when the Vikings lost- that's who she had winning it all.

Remember, money goes to the top 3 point-getters, so even if you think you're out, you might not be. Enjoy the break during the week. NFL football resumes next Saturday.

Reminder: click the link on the right (2009 Playoff Key) to see how everyone's doing. Fully equipped with emasculating colors like pink and yellow.

Chargers and Cardinals Advance

The first games are done, and a bunch of people are already out (including me). Don't you just love the NFL playoffs? (Sigh).

In the early game, Arizona beat Atlanta. 10 out of 24 picked that game correctly. In the late game, San Diego shocked Indy in OT. (Thanks to a couple of calls by the league's most prolific officiating crew). Only 5 people picked that game correctly. Congratulations to Tony Pezely for being the only person to pick both games correctly. Nine people lost both games.

The Indy loss hurt a lot of people. Over half the pool picked Indy to win the divisional game as well. And seven people think they're OUT because they picked the Colts to win it all. Ouch.

Kickoff!

All entries are in. We got a total of 23 entries (not bad for last minute). Here's how the payout will work:

1st place: $130
2nd place: $70
3rd place: $30

Good luck!
